About Us

From the Beginning
North Dublin Muslim  National School was opened as the second state-funded Muslim Primary School in 2001 under the Trusteeship and Patronage of the Islamic Foundation of Ireland.

The school    opened in response to increased demand from families for places within a Muslim primary school, particularly in North Dublin, and began  in temporary accommodation in  Cabra, Dublin 7   with three class teachers  and 47 pupils in September 2001.

Where We Are Now
North Dublin Muslim National School  has grown immensely  since 2001, and now caters for over 370   pupils from  Dublin city and its suburbs. The school is continuing to grow and currently has  sixteen mainstream classes, one ASD class and eight special education teachers.

Our Curriculum

In keeping with the Primary School Curriculum (1999) and the Primary Language Curriculum, the school follows a well balanced and broadly based curriculum, which promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, intellectual and physical development of all pupils.

It is the policy of the management of the school, that the school will follow curricular programmes prescribed by the Department of Education, insofar as practical, possible and compliant with the distinctly Islamic Ethos of the school, which may be amended from time to time in accordance with Section 9 and 30 of the Education Act (1998). In addition to the National Primary School Curriculum, a Religion and Arabic curriculum is also taught in the school.

The full curriculum can be viewed here.
